How the Bristol Sling Ladies are making parenting a little easier

For a new parent deciding how to transport your baby can be a minefield.

Some little ones are happy in the pram, but others may only be relaxed while being carried in a sling. And once you enter the world of slings, the endless options available online can be mindboggling.

From woven wraps to carriers with buckles, knowing what's right for you and your child can take trial and error.

That's why we are very lucky in this city to have the Bristol Sling Ladies which offer parents and carers the chance to hire a carrier for a small fee at a drop in sling library session.

Sling libraries happen across the area and there is also a chance to attend more sociable events with tea and homemade cakes.

The sessions are run by Anna, Clare and Emma, who are fully qualified and insured. They are dedicated to sharing the benefits of slings and how to use them safely.

Peer Support volunteers also help at sessions and the Sling Ladies are keen to recruit more volunteers.
