Bshirt wins Heathrow's World of Opportunity and Open to Export

The Bshirt is a social business founded by two Mums with many years of breastfeeding experience between us. We are passionate about improving breastfeeding rates in the UK and worldwide, by enabling women to breastfeed confidently and comfortably for as long as they wish.

The Bshirt is now in the process of developing new products and expanding their exports. Founders Philippa and Lisa have been on fire - winning two prestigious pitches on the very same day. If only every day could be that lucky! Here are the details of the winning pitches:

One of our barriers to exporting is not being able to place larger orders due to cash flow restrictions. As a small business we are constrained by cash flow. This means that we are reliant on factories which accept smaller orders. By visiting the factory and meeting the key stakeholders in person we can solidify our relationship and build strong business relationships. We have also designed several new products and have been discussing the particulars of the pattern, fabric, cut and trim as we develop these new products. We intend to visit our factories in late 2019 and early 2020 to establish the new products and improve our business relationships.

The Bshirt were also fortunate to win the Open to Export pitching competition.

We are now in the process of launching an EU version of our website to allow us to capture payments in Euros and start actively exporting to EU countries. We can then use our Euros to pay for our stock, rather than converting it. We are planning to advertise this new website to the Netherlands, Germany, Spain & Belgium throughout the course of 2020. The £3,000 prize money will help launch our exports.

Ethical Breastfeeding Clothing Brand

We’re very proud of our ethical breastfeeding clothing brand. No only do we want to empower breastfeeding mums, we also want to empower our team who are all part-time working parents. Raising children is one of the most important jobs in society and yet this can often be incompatible with the traditional 9-5 way of working. We feel that flexible working hours allows us to show our employees just how much we value them in their important role as parents as well as on a professional level.
